GPU Upgrade

Hi People

Well I'm not sure should I do cross firing or buy single better module than the present one, please help me out.

Current configuration:
i7 3770k
Asus Maximus Gene
4 GB*2 GB Corsair
Corsair TX 750 W
ATI 6770 HD 1 GB GDDR5: Only thing left to upgrade
Win 7 64 BIT

Mostly I use PC for gaming, HD Playback and editing. Beside that SQL, VPN, Outlook, 5-6 different chrome pages all together when working. I find my current GPU lack some qualities while playing 1080p movies, and cant play few games at high level details and graphics. And sometime it might have delayed for quick second or seconds while playing intro video in games, Though never faced a problem while in action: MW3 and old ones, Max Payne 3, MOH, Assasin Creed etc. I'm not much from a technical background! All I know how to play games

I need guidance. should I buy better GPU (Budget: $372.060) or should I do crossfiring (And I've no clue how crossfiring actually works, just picked it from here'n there)
Will appreciate the help to get the best out of my computer!

I would go single best card.
look for an HD7950 or HD7870 if you can't swing the extra.

Yeah I agree a 7950 and overclock it would be best. I currently have this one in crossfire and overclocked to 980 MHz. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414
