im considering goign with a value/bulk sb live! 1024 for about $50 with my amd 1500+xp system...

1 - is there any motherboard that has equal soundquality so i can get a better motherboard and get the soundcard built in at the same time?

2 - is there any current games that really uses 5.1 stereo?

Yes, look for NForce motherboards.

Not that I know of. They are all 4.1 now. And by the way, stereo refers to 2 channel sound so 5.1 stereo is a contradiction unless you are talking about downsampling 5.1 channel sound to stereo.

Check which Southbridge your mobo has, if it's a Via 686b then it <b>could</b> give problems with the SB Live!.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground :eek: .

I would not get the SB Live. A lot people have problem with them including me. There are better option now(I get my SB Live about 3 years ago not much alternative at that time).
