I will try to be simple as possible because this problem is very complicated

  • Computer has been freezing up randomly ever since I first built it
  • I have replaced one set of RAM sticks that did not match nor were they on the Motherboard's approved RAM list.
  • Freezing is random. I can be playing any game or idling. Freezing does not discriminate!
  • I never see any blue screens, errors, or anything. Occasionally I will get the stuttering sound through my speakers but that stopped after I installed Windows 7 along with the blue screens.
  • I have no viruses according to MalwareBytes

    Specs:
    OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) ( Two sets)
    GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45
Western Digital Caviar GP WD7500AACS 750GB
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775
    nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+
    Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W
    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Any help is appreciated.

Have you ran a memtest? Are all your drivers up to date?

Also, what PSU are you using?

    Here you go.

I will run a Memtest and my drivers are up to date. Any particular program you suggest for a memtest?

Memtest 86+ is normally the one I run, if there are any problems it will normally pick them up pretty quickly.

Ya ... sounds like a bad memory chip to me!!
my system is pretty similar to yours and I have never had any freeze ups.
    Just download the file here.
    http://www.memtest.org/#downiso
I generally use the iso and make a bootable disc. then reboot the system with the disc in tray and your system set to boot from disc.
    Hope this helps.
