I am currently running an intel quadcore cpu with 6gb ram and a GTX280oc. My system can run all the latest games in HD with high detail (F1 2012/Borderlands 2/Spec Ops/MW3). It easily out performs my X360 and PS3, would spending £200-400 really be worth upgrading my CPU/GFX??

Wait for the AMD 8000 series. Really just wait till you can't run games on high.

I've actually gone from a gtx460, to a 550ti, back to a 260, and now running the best performer so far 280oc. In your opion is it worth upgraing yet>?

I recommend you wait until next year. That is when steamroller haswell come out. That is when things will get interesting. As of now though: i5-3570k for high end, fx-4300 for low end.

It will look better if you had a DX11 capable card, but if you aren't being limited by anything, I wouldn't bother until you absolutely need to.
