ABOUT TO BUY. Yes/No?

Hey guys I'm about a couple hours away from committing 900$ to a new computer. It's 830$, but 900 after tax/shipping. I'm not willing t change the list, since I believe it's all I can do within my budget. All I'm wondering is, do I have everything I need? Wires and all? Or am I missing somthing?

P.S. My ram will come free with my motherboard.

So, basically, am I ready to purchase?

  1. Everything seems fine. But that is a very weak GPU.
  2. Cheaper drive that is just as good.
    Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM. $80

You can drop the thermal paste, the cooler will come with some.
Speaking of, upgrade the the Hyper 212 EVO. Has a better baseplate and fan.

Cheaper PSU, its less efficient and non-modular, but its cheaper and just as reliable.
    Corsair TX650W, 80+ Bronze. $90 ($10 rebate)

With the money saved. I advise getting a stronger GPU. Something along the lines of a HD7850 1GB given that you would have roughly $160 for the GPU now.
  3. ^ exactly this. You could even drop to a 500W PSU to scrape up some more. If you're going to be gaming you want a better GPU.
  4. I'm not much of a PC gamer. Most my friends are on PS3, so I'll be using this computer to torrent, watch movies, and play around with linux. I won't be needing a high end GPU. I think I'll keep the PSU and Artic SIlver, but I'll switch to the barracuda though.

Any last thoughts before I press buy?
  5. Even if you're not a PC gamer this PC is the same price as yours 830$, and much better than yours.

  6. It seems to me that you only need is an i3-3220+650gtx+h77/z75 mobo+450w psu anctec vp/xfx+1TB hdd and a solid case like the 200r.
  7. I found a cheap ssd on amazon. 109$ samsung 128 gb. Deciding to buy that instead of a wdc black, and downgrading to a wdc blue 500gb. Also downgraded the case to a HAF 912. What do you guys think?

That case is awesome, I have it. Storage is ok.
  9. The mobo should come with at least two SATA cables, so I think your fine on cables. Everything else you will need (screws and such) should come with the case.
  10. Excellent!

I think I'm saving a bit on the computer, so does anyone have a suggestion for a GPU higher than a 650? My only requirement is it be under $140, and hopefully come with assasincs creed free also =D

Or if you want to stretch the budget, a 1GB HD7850 is a good option. Doesn't come with AC3, but it does come with Far Cry 3 and Hitman Absolution.

This seems to be a very suitable card. Is it worth the extra $20 for me to go from a 650 to a 650 ti, when I don't game much on the PC? Or should i just stick with a 650, being it already capable of quite a bit for the price?
  13. Well it's much better for gaming and it's at 139$ and then it has the rebate for 20$ which totals 119.99$ cost in the future.
If you want to play assassins creed 3 at good framerates/settings i'd recommend going with the 650 ti.
  14. Gosh I'm looking at radeon series card now I'm stuck again! Curse these great deals!
