Tom's place had an intro to burning. Once you've read through that, head to http://www.cdrinfo for the indepth stuff. http://www.gamecopyworld.com and http://www.cdmediaworld.com have some faq's on the actual disks and how they are made. You'll get confused if you go to cdrinfo first, so check out Tom's article.

The actual name brand of the media, or technically the actual manufacturing plant that created the dye and cdr, makes a significant difference. Also pay attention, when you get the chance, to Mode1/2, Form 1/2, Ascii/Joliet/Romeo.

Burning a disk Mode2, Form2 might wreck your day/week/friggin-fiscial-year.
