When installing the driver for an onboard ethernet
adapter, I receive a message that says
"device cannot start, Code 10".
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device
I have tried different drivers
What else

Another thought, sometimes this works. I have found it helpful on more than one occasion to start in "safe" mode then remove the "ghosts" (devices no longer installed on your computer) when in safe mode device manager shows everything that has ever been installed and not removed. Taking out what is no longer there causes those drivers to not load, thus perhaps avoiding a conflict. Not a pro but been playing with computers before they were color.
