No floppy drive since XP loaded

I have just installed XP pro on my Toshiba 1800 laptop and
now don't have an 'A' drive. HAve removed and reinstalled
came back with fault code 39 corrupt or missing
driver,Flpydisk.sys removed this file from
windows/../drivers and replaced still no good tried to
update BIOS but need a floppy drive for the batch file
PLEASE HELP NOTHING HELPS

Me, too. No floppy drive detected since XP and SP2
loaded onto my Dell Inspiron 600m. Also lost my mouse.

Nothing? even Toshiba support?

Finally got on to some one who knows something and it
seems to have worked

Go to the PC manufactures Web site and download latest
BIOS and drivers.

As there is no A drive you have to down load this from
another pc and save batch file to a floppy then load this
into your faulty pc and if it is not a Floppy drive
hardware fault it should work
