ATI x1950 not working right on tv (purpleness problem)

I have a Sapphire ATI x1950 and I am trying to connect it to my TV. The TV is a Samsung and I am not sure of the model but I can check. (it is a 5 month old flat-screen model)

I am using an svideo to HD component (the red green blue one) I plug them all into the TV and it shows the desktop but it is all very very purple.


The svideo adapter I have is from a newer ATI radeon hd 4850 card so it may not be compatible?

Any Ideas on this?

SVideo cannot carry high resolution signals

Well I tested and the Svideo adapter works fine on the hd 4850 that it came with.

I ended up just getting an dvi to hdmi adapter and it works very well.

It is a very old video card it probably doesnt support a flat screen.
