Finish my Build!

Hello, I am just looking for some suggestions and guidance on what else to pick up to finish off my rig. It is being built for some light gaming(Diablo 3/GW 2) at Medium settings and some internet surfing. I currently have an operating system, and most of the components just need a PSU/Motherboard. Right now I have these parts:

Case: Thermaltake Commander Snow Edition
PSU: >>>>?<<<
CPU: I3 3220 3.30Ghz
Motherboard: >>>?<<<<
Memory: Kingston Hyper X Genesis(2x4gb)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
Monitor: 24" Viewsonic 2ms Delay
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow(Should I get a different mechanical keyboard?)
Mouse: Tt Esports element gaming mouse
Operating system: Windows Vista/7 (Not sure yet)

Any and all help will be appreciated, that being said all my components are BNIB and can be exchanged and upgraded.

  1. First off get Windows 7. Get a Z77-Extreme 4 motherboard or Gigabyte Z77-D3H and i think a 500watt PSU should be good enough http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027&Tpk=corsair%20500w
  2. Your PSU should be the Corsair CX430 and the motherboard a ASRock H77 Pro 4/MVP
Both are very reliable products, and should last a long while. But if you plan on adding a decent video card, you would want a larger PSU. In that case, I'd recommend the XFX Pro 550w PSU.

And I'm not sure why you would even consider Vista. It's terrible. Even worse than Windows 8 if you ask me. Errors and bugs everywhere. Get Windows 7.

+1 Vista is horrible, but when I say horrible I really mean horrible.
  4. Thanks for the quick input!

I asked about Vista just because I had the cd's lying around and wasn't sure about size of the OS.

I see that everyone recommends the "77" Mobo's why is this?

One last question about PSU's though, I noticed a big difference in Price for a modular as compared to a non-modular PSU. What are the differences? just cable management?
  5. I don't see your graphics card, and if you haven't decided what is your budget for a gpu?
  6. I would go Seasonic for a psu. I can't really tell ya what wattage though as you have no gpu listed.

Because they are the newest thing with motherboard chipsets. I'd recommend the B75 too, but H77 is a bit more suitable. I wouldn't recommend X79 because each motherboard is ~$200 at least and the cheapest CPU for that is the 3820, at around ~$300
