Canon had the standard kit zoom.
You can see the difference in noise, the Canon's image has
a smoothness the C8080s lacks and it cannot be duplicated by
using noise removal software.

I just looked at it a second time on my better monitor. My opinion
hasn't changed.

I shot a few images through both cameras, the sets are pretty
much the same. I don't know what to say except perhaps springing
for the more expensive ED zoom would be a good idea.
