Im building a new pc soon and want to know if a Radeon 7870 + i5 3470 is better or a FX-4300 and 7850?

This is for gaming.

BTW I know piledriver is behind intel but w/e,

I can't afford the intel and the 7870, I have to choose AMD + 7870 or Intel + 7850.

These are my only two options with pc case gear in australia so yeah

I've already looked through all the parts and I know which ones are the best I'm just torn between a 7870 with amd cpu or 7850 with intel.

Im thinking the 7850 will be better tho cos its only slightly less powerful then the 7870 and the intel is alot better then amd.

We need your budget you have in order to give the best advice
Intel has the high end with i5/i7
AMD only has the FX6300 which is in between the i3's and the i5 in performance and priced between the two.
Intel has the low end with i3 but the a8 5600k is a decent challenger

The first post was misleading. It seems that he has restricted budget, and when he computed, he could only go with either intel + 7850 or amd + 7870 from the send post he posted. With that, I would still go with intel + 7850. If you could cut off some budget from other parts without compromising performance then upgrade the gpu to 7870 or higher and cpu to 3570 (with k if you'll overclock) but for budget gaming, i prefer not to overclock.

Simple. Grab the i5 with the 7850. Your first post meant 7850 and an i5 or the fx and a 7870. Hands down take the intel combo. Make sure that 7850 has 2 fans on it, and preferably has unlocked voltages. MSI usually has unlocked voltages. Thus MSI Afterburner. At any rate, i5; Overclock the *** out the 7850?Pineapples?Win Games :bounce:

Just remember that certain cards have unlocked voltages on certain programs and locked on others. I know for a fact that GPU tweak (As much as I hate using it) is the only program that allows me to change the voltage, with even MSI afterburner, Sapphire Tweak, and even Catalyst not allowing me to change the voltage.
