9300 backlight? Can it be always on?

Hi,
I've this problem with Nokia 9300: the backlight will not be always on, even
if I try to set it so in profiles. I've car kit CK-7W (or sumthin like that,
the bluetooth-version) and I've set the peripheral settings so that when
connected it should keep backlight on all the time. It seems that either
Nokia won't recognize the car kit at all as a car kit (it works ok, though)
or backlight -setting does not work.

I've also the PowerProfiles utility and I've set the backlight "always on"
when phone is charging but that either does not seem to be working.

Anyone else???
