Link Aggregation Setup Inquiry

I was looking to setup 2 nics on both a workstation (w7) and my server ( debian - mint 12) (1000mbs) each connect them for an 8 port managed switch and setup link aggregation. This however will be plugged into a router with 100mb/s ports.

Will this throttle my local connection to 100mb/s? or will it skip the router and use the 1000mb's ports they are connected too?

they will communicate with each other at 1000 since they are on the same switch but only connect to the router at a 100
