I lucked out at work and got a laptop with a Quadro k5000m card at 2GB in it. Now my question is for gaming purposes are the Quadro drivers going to hinder me? Is it possible to load GTX drivers and the card respond to those? Is there even a performance difference if that is done?

Any help or insight is appreciated.

******I did search the forums for a good hour before posting, but did not see anything related the k5000m, even used google and haven't had much success******

Quadro drivers WILL hinder ou. I'm not sure what kind of card it translates to the GTX version, but I'm still sure that another driver will not work for your card.

You could try, it probably won't do anything to it.

Kinda what I was thinking. I have a Dell Precision M6500 with an ATI Firepro in it. After some research I found that it was built off the same chip as the HD5870m and I was able to install and use the drivers for that over the Firepro. Was thinking something similar may be possible. If not, I'm sure the card will handle better than anything I would purchase on my own.
