More about upgrading 7750
  1. well i think there are websites with benchmarking on hd 5450 and hd 7750 to see much gap of performance they have in between.

well this is the best i can do: http://www.hwcompare.com/11789/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-7750/
  2. Hmm... What is your PSU?
    Monitor? Resolution?
    Motherboard?
  3. very big difference. that's all i can say :)

haha same here bro.. i too upgrade my graphics card from a 5450 to a 7750 very recently. and trust me the difference is mind blowing, earth shattering and mind numbingly huge. and am not exaggerating :non:
for example i used to get 20 fps in mafia 2 on low settings at 1024*768
now i get 60 fps at 1440*900 at maxed out setting only with physx and AA off

in crysis 2 i used to get 18-20 fps at 720p at lowest setting and now i get 45 fps at 1440*900 at maxed out hardcore setting.

in walking dead i got 25 fps at lowest setting at 720p and now 60fps at maxes out setting at 1440*900

in burnout paradise i used to get 25 fps at 720p lowest setting now 60 fps at max settings at 1440*900
i hope you can now see how huge the difference is. the 7750 is about six times more powerful than a 5450 at stock speeds :D :bounce: :hello:
  5. Ok so I looked at my PSU and it seems its only a 220w psu

but its a very efficient one because its rated 80+ bronze and it can pull 16A on the 12v line

    so basically 192w

    the cpu is 65w tdp

and the card is 55w tdp

i dont know about the other parts though

and before people ask to upgrade my psu remember my computer is a slimline
  6. Yes you'll see big performance increase from HD 5450 to a radeon hd 7750, but with your current PSU, even it's rated 80+ bronze, I suggest you to not upgrade it yet until you get a bigger power of PSU.
It's quiet difficult to find a suitable PSU for slimline PC...
  7. i have seen people run the card on a 150w power supply by antec or something like that, the whole system was using about 110w while playing skyrim

but i find it not worth it for a slimline psu rated at 300w to be priced at about $70
  8. I think you'll be able to run it on that PSU, just don't overclock anything.

EDIT: Actually, IDK maybe not. Look: http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html
  9. 220 watts is a bit of a concern . before when i had a 220 watt supply the experts here adviced me that putting in anything more than a 5450 or 6450 is very risky and can damage the system . thats why i had got the 5450 in the first place.
but then my psu was of bestec which isnt a good brand . i dunno abt urs ..
but i wouldnt advice anything over a 6450
  10. whenever i calculated the psu requirements of my rig i used this and not the newegg one

    http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

it comes out to 174w for minimum
