directx 9.0c installation problem

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.device_driver.dev (More info?)

When i try to install Directx 9.0c, the installation
program stops.

When it's time to copy the file "d3dramp.dll", the setup
stops and eventually displays a message "Directx could
not copy a file" and the setup shuts down, thus not
installing the newest directx required.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any solutions or
suggestions?
