HELP! FIRST GAMING RIG

I am in the process of finding parts for my new Gaming PC. I am planning to build and am seeking help from Pros to check compatibility or if you have any advice to help me. I prefer Intel, Nvidia, and Asus if that helps.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: First Week of January

Budget Range: 1600-1850 Before Rebates; Before Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Overclocking, Surfing the web, Movies and Music.

Am getting parts from newegg.com and microcenter.com if it has it cheaper.

DVD: Asus DVD Burner 24X
CASE: Zalman Z11 Plus
Monitor: Asus VE258Q
PERIPHERAL: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard; Razer Deathadder 3500

Also an additional question, Where would I plug In case fans?

-670s are cheaper and perform the same
-better but just as good ssds out there
-better power supply
-better case
-cheaper dvd drive
-silver 5 sucks compared to new paste
-i have a much better cooler
-much better keyboard. its made by filco, not rosewell. = quality
-motherboard has thunderbolt and better power delivery. at the cost of asus software

Thanks for the quick and informative response Tron.
I decided will be changing to the GTX 670 2gb, PSU, MOBO, Case (love the minimalism of it ) , and keyboard to the ones you suggested. The cooler is a little out of my price range though. You really helped me. Thanks !

well after everything, my build still costs less than yours. i dont see why not for getting the cooler
