Hey guys,

I am planning on building a new system running win 7 and the Adobe CS6 suite. I do video editing with HD and some 2K footage as well as after effects FX and animation and color correcting. Here are the specs I had in mind. Price isnt an issue as long as it's reasonable, I need performance.

(2x) GTX 670 2GB in SLI
64GB 1600 Ram
Intel I7 3930K 3.2G OC to 4G
MSI BIG BANG-XPOWER II X79 2011

240G SSD
2TB 7200 export drive
2TB 7200 Storage drive
300G 10,000 Raptor drive as cashe drive

Will the quadro cards drastically increase performance and should I use a duel cpu xeon system?

Thanks so much everyone

rendering videos should be faster on 2 670s but if you are creating graphics, you are much better off with the quadro k5000

if you are to use 64gb of ram, id suggest getting AMD ramdisk (works with intel dont worry) software, set it up by making 32gb go towards the ramdisk and the rest to system ram. the 32gb of ram can be used as your scratch disk, making things much faster

If I remember correctly, the tests i've seen for video editing showed how strong the Xeon processors are. Obviously a good professional video card will help, too, but if it has to be either one, i'd say Xeons with a good gaming card.
