Hello, I am going to purchase a Radeon 7870 and currently on Newegg the Sapphire 7870 is at $199.99 which to me seems a good deal. It is a limited time offer so I was wondering if it was a reliable brand or if I should go for the other 7870 brands like MSI or ASUS, or XFX, or HIS ? What is the best maker of gpu's in terms of reliability?

I would go XFX, but that's only my opinion :)

Any benckmark info for cards by these brands showing comparison would be helpful :) . Tomshardware did on on the 7970 but I can't find one for the 7870.

benchmark of the same card without OC..i don't think you will get any help....go with your budget..that is what is important..if money is not issue then go with MSI twin frozer....but sapphire is also good...quite and cool...i have mine 7850....very happy with it...

The Sapphire one is good for the price. Even if you got a twin forzr.. You will get only a maximum of cooling performance of 5%. Go for it! :)

MSI 7870 HAWK, Best of the 7870's.
Overclocks like a boss too, I'd recommend it any day.

I think I am going to buy the Sapphire 7870 as it costs 199$ but some of the reviews indicate black screens and such, you guys know anything about that problem?

It also mentioned open air coolers on the graphics card and the need for good airflow within the case to provide good cooling. I am using a case with 2x120mm Fans and 1x140mm fan. Is this enough cooling for the card?

it will be enough...if you can do then reverse on of the side case fan so it can draw outer cooler air inside and overwhelm your gpu with cool air..and hot air go outside via exhaust ;)  ..it will make your gpu real cool.....
