Hey people, first at all, sorry for my poor english, i'm from Argentina and i can't speak very good. But this is the problem: all we know that GTA IV is a game which needs a very good PC. I have an AMD FX 8120 and a Radeon HD 6670 1 GB ddr5 , and 4 GB of Ram. I tought this combination'd be enough to play GTA IV in max settings, but, it lags like hell... simply as that. I can't max any graphic option. Playing at a resolution of 1366x768, reflections in medium, shadows in medium and all other options in High (not Maximum), i get 24-35 fps. It's very dissapointing because i bought the PC for this game and i saw gameplays in cards like the HD 5770, in max settings, like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NDeAZCN85g. I have the patch 1.0.0.7. What should i do?? change my grapphic card??

PD: Sorry if i missed something, i'm very new here in the forum.

The person in the video is also using an Intel i5, which performs better in GTAIV, as well as a much stronger video card, the 5770.

5770 equal to 6770 (In fact it just "re-branded")

U really need a graphic card upgrade....
Unless u want to compromise some detail like reflection and shadows...

GTA IV was coded really badly....I would suggest you doing some tweaks like upgrading to a 64 bit operating system (if you dont already have one), defrag your hard drive, download and install the latest amd drivers, disable all background programs while running the game (since gta iv is a very cpu intense game)

Best of luck!

He said he had a 6670, not a 6770 so that's lower again. Your problem is simply a low-end graphics card for an unoptimized game. I used to have with a GTX 550 TI (which is better than the 6670) playing only at 1440x900 and it wasn't able to play GTA IV at max.

So ya, a graphics card upgrade is heavily due if you're expecting to play games at max nowadays.

Indeed... GTA IV is not so optimized for PC, which means you wont get max settings with your current build...

ahhhh hell no. Let me tell you. The 6670 is worse than the 5770. also, his cpu is much better than yours. just lower your settings

grand theft auto 4 LOVES processor cores and performance

high end quad core MINIMUM followed by a strong video card

the game works fine on my last rig (Q6600/8800GT) and still on my now nearly 2 year old rig

It actually runs pretty well on my 460; I have everything on like high.

The CPU is more important in GTAIV.

You have a low end gpu for a game that was coded very poorly for the PC. You'll need something better. Hell even my crossfire radeon 7950s only got a max of 60 fps. That is well below the average for my system.
