I decided to go for the GA-Z77M-D3H motherboard, and it says it supports 2800mhz (OC). what's the meaning of this?
I will have to overclock my stick to 2800, or buy a 2800 stick?
thanks.
P.S. I do not want 2800mhz stick, it's just for my knowledge.
No this is just the maximum frequency supported when overclocked,
according to the gigabyte website
"Support for DDR3 2800(OC)/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules" http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4192#sp
If you go to the support/download tab in the link and download the manual it should have a list of names of supported ram modules in there
