More GPU. The G840 is plenty of CPU for games, go with it and the 660. Upgrading to the i3 would only get you a few FPS. The upgrade to 660 would be much more noticeable.

Have you considered the fx4300 with a GTX 660 or a 7850? That might just be the sweet spot in your situation

At 1080p stock the 660 gets ~50 fps at with max settings and 4xAA in BF3. Same settings in Crysis gets ~40 fps. Using High-Med you'll get more FPS obviously. Get a factory overclocked card with dual fans, usually not much more expensive than stock and you'll get a few more FPS again.

For the haters that say you need an i3, Toms did a test of CPUs and found the differnece between the i3 and G860 was 1-2 FPS.
