Gaming bang for buck build / upgrade

Hi have done some research and this is the best build I seem to be able to come up with.
Currently have a phennom2 6 core 1090t which I have never really been happy with!

This build is for gaming and general use.

Monitor Iiyama ProLite G2773HS 120Hz 27" £60

ocz vertex 3 120gb ssd £75
i5570K £170

As rock extreme 4 £102

Items I already have

Blue ray drive
1tb hard drive
2 x 4 gb cmz cmz8gx3m2a1600c9
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB :
Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 1866 6GB
windows 7

Antec twelve hundred dog ugly but nice and big.
Asus zonar d2
Asus GTX 470
Artic cooling freezer 64 pro
PSU antec cp1000w

Open to all suggestions . Looking for best bang for buck items will the 2 memory types I have mix or should I try and pick up another 2gb stick of the dominator?
Will The gtx 470 be up to the job for a while longer?
Can anyone recommend a cooler as I am going to overclock this.
If it lights up needs to be blue. Or is my old one ok?

thanks in advance

More about gaming bang buck build upgrade
  1. Going higher than 1600mhz adds nothing. Use the ram you have. Xigmatek Dark Knight 2 glows white but the fans can be changed with blue light ones.
Gtx 470 still got it,but your new monitor looks demanding. Test it first is my advice. If it struggles, then change it.
  2. yes gtx 470 is still good for now. you can upgrade if you face framerate drops in your game
  3. Great responses thanks just got most of my upgrades going to put it together tonight.
Also going to keep a eye on ebay for another gtx 470 to sli with. Seems best bang for buck graphically. (hope there will be a few on after xmas)
    Good news about the ram.
Will check out the cooler if the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO I bought is not up to the job.
  4. Happy building then, let us know how it goes.
