So, I built this pc about 6 months ago. Have a Hyper 212 EVO and the fan is making a pretty annoying rattling type noise. I guess I am kind of assuming it's the bearing in the fan.

It doesn't make the noise if the fan is off the cooler or if I hold my finger on the center part of the fan and slow the rpm's down some.

I have taken it off and tried messing with it a bunch and nothing seems loose. It has the rubber grommets between the heatsink and fan.

I set the bios to auto fan speed and it helped for a little until the pc was running for a little. (Assuming it cranked the rpm's up)

I guess I am going to just replace it since it's so cheap, unless some has some other suggestion?

My question at that point would be:

Would any 120mm fan work? Like on newegg they list the fan's that I saw as "case fan". My mobo has a 4 pin connector on it for the cpu fan, and if I remember correctly, the 4th pin is for variable speed? (could be wrong about that).

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
