PCI Express 2.0 x16 and not PCI Express 3.0 x16

i have ga-x79-ud3 and gtx 680 and show me PCI Express 2.0 x16 and not PCI Express 3.0 x16.
this motherboard is amazing and support pci 3.

  1. pcie is backwards compatible
    your card will not utilize pcie 3.0 speeds anyways

  4. Today's dual GPU's don't even use more than half of PCI-Express 2.0 bandwidth yet.

    Not to worry.
    More correctly,while the GTX680 can use 3.0, but will not be slowed down even by pci-e 2.0.

  6. Honestly don't worry about it your card can't fully saturate a PCIE 2.0 or PCIE 3.0 slot. I remeber some site did a benchmark test pci 2.0 vs 3.0 and there was 1 FPS difference at most.
  7. He is using SB-E cpu. Its PCIe 3.0 supported.

    To OP, From where do you see PCIe 2.0? GPU-Z?

  10. contact the mb vendor. on the newer z77 mb the pci mutiplexer chip is not the same on the x79 mb.

    if your mb has the n200 chipset it may be older chipset and cant do 3.0 or there a defect in your chipset.
