GPU replaced . . Trouble ahead ?

My iMac 24" early 2009 just had its GPU replaced. Was GeForce 120. Now has what is termed a G96. Now, from what I can determine, that is nothing more than a renamed 8800, the one which caused so many problems. Trouble ahead ? Thanks.

  1. I would disagree. I would guess that the 8800 and its brothers was an extremely popular family of GPU's. I have an 8800 GTS that I've been running for years, and now it powers my HTPC for HD content. It's always been good to me, I don't think it's trouble at all.

    Good luck
