Hard Drive Testing

Anyone know some hard drive testing software that is very very extensive to check for errors, not bad sectors but problems with the drive? i have si-soft sandra but thats not detailed. Any links and advise are welcome
This is as i have a hard disk and it *might* be causing the occasional crashes but it might not

I would check the manufacture for some software. SiSoft Sandra is more in the lines of benchmarking software. Most manufactures (I don't know of any that don't) offer diagnostic utilitys for their hard drives, because they don't want to replace something they really don't have to.
