I put the motherboard, video card, processor and RAM together and conducted a post test and got 1 beep from the motherboard speaker. Everything seemed to be working fine. I install everything into the case (motherboard standoffs are fine, no shorts, etc.) and connect the HDD and optical drive. I install Windows on it (about 1 hour process) and everything is fine. Then a few minutes into using Windows for the first time, my Video signal gets lost. I reboot, no beep, everything loads, but after a few minutes the video signal gets lost again.
I remove the motherboard from the case, try a post test again with 1 stick of RAM, the video card attached, and the CPU and heatsink only. Same problem; all fans turn on, no beep, BIOS is loaded, once I try exiting BIOS, just takes me back to the BIOS rather than telling me I have no storage device attached, and after a few minutes there is no signal again.
What I've done so far:
1) I used an old video card to rule that out as the issue, same result.
2) Try each stick of RAM in different slots, same result.
3) I get the motherboard exchanged and try again, same result; fan on, no beep, BIOS loaded, won't exit BIOS and video for a few minutes then no signal message.
4) I get the power supply exchanged and try again, same result.
Now I'm wondering what I've missed as I don't suspect that it could be the CPU or RAM, as that wouldn't explain why I get video for a moment and then no signal. Could anybody tell me if I've missed something? Please and thank you.
