Monitor question for my laptop

Wasn't sure exactly where to ask this question.
I don't really know anything about the specs of monitors and am wondering if anyone can suggest, or help suggest me one.
I am looking for a monitor for about 300 CAD, exclusively for gaming. To run off my laptop. Preferably 24"

my laptop has vga and hd ports
Mostly I play games like; LoL, WoW, D3 and BF3
If you could help point me in the right direction with what kind of monitor would work well with my laptop, that would be greatly appreciated!

Anything I need to know about ghosting or anything like that? Also 169 is a lot cheaper than I expected. What would be the difference for the monitors going for like 300?
