Hi everyone,

Thank you for clicking on my post.

I am a new PC builder and hope to be building my first Custom PC. However, being new i do not know much about them.

Could you please tell me if the parts i have chosen so far are compatible?

CPU: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=76932

GPU: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=74741

Hard Drive: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=66010&vpn=ST2000DM001&manufacture=Seagate

Motherboard: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=76522&vpn=M5A97%20R2%2E0&manufacture=ASUS

In addition, how much PSU do i need?
Do i only need ram that is DDR3 to work?
Finally, for the case i do just make sure that it works with the PSU?

If you think any of these parts aren't good, please feel free to recommend others to me.

Thank you so much for your time.

aww good AMD build :) btw welcome to the forum

but someone here will suggest you to go with intel build. you might want to consider their advice

your PSU should be 500-750 from corsair, xfx, antec, seasonic. certified bronze is enough but silver/gold is better :)

you need 8GB kit of DDR3 RAM make it 1600 version

case is about taste, pic one ATX from coolermaster, nzxt, antec, or corsair... corsair 300R is good :)

Hey,

Thank you so much for your advice it means a lot to a new PC builder like me.

So judging from your answer, i assume the parts i have chosen should be compatible?

And i will look into the PSU and case.

However, as for the video card i am planning to get this one instead

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=74741&promoid=1033

Would this video card still be compatible?

Also, as for the intel and AMD, i have to admit i am not familiar with AMD as much as intel, however after doing some research and looking at some benchmarks i have noticed that AMD outperforms higher models for a much lower price.

Yes the computer is for gaming, as well as some graphics and editing.

Although Intel is good, my budget would not allow for it.

With that aside, do you think this PC could still run games like Skyrim and do you think that all the parts of this PC be compatible?
