I'm building a budget PC and this is my first time as I am trying to break away from consoles. I have a very small budget and found a barebones kit from tigerdirect i like and added a graphics card. I just want some input on if this is an ok starting build. Im looking to play a lot of the console games on PC such as Far Cry 3, BF3, Skyrim, along with maybe Guild Wars 2 and other PC games. I'm not looking to play on Ultra settings but high would be nice

Parts of the barebones kit ($214 after rebate)

AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz Quad Core AM3+ Unlocked CPU

8GBs KINGSTON HYPERX RED MEMORY

MSI 760G (FX) MOTHERBOARD

PIXXO 500W PSU

ULTRA XBLASTER MID TOWER CASE

KINGWIN BLUE LED CASE FAN BUNDLE

Graphics card:

EVGA GeForce GTX 650 01G-P4-2650-KR Video Card - 1GB ($99)

*Note I am using my old 300gb hard drive to start so I can upgrade windows for only $40

I'm afraid at that budget you won't be getting much. That GPU will likely struggle even on medium settings for the games you listed.

At $150 you could probably get a 7850 1GB card. That would be best if you can find one. It still wouldn't be maxing everything out, but you would likely be able to boost things up to high and still be playable. What resolution is your monitor/TV?
