After doing the reading on this article: http://lenzfire.com/2012/07/how-to-c...0-ghz-edition/
I have some questions on flashing into a Ghz edition.
1]. Is that tutorial right or wrong or are there any remarks?
2]. What flash software should I use, I see two on http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads..._Flashing/ATI/ Which should I use ATIwinflash/ATIflash???
3]. Because the Sapphire is a reference card I would like to know what bios should I download, from Sapphire or from ATI and also what bios or is this just a matter of get the newest date & the highest Ghz.

I am not sure why one should do that since you can simply overclock your card. I understand one would do this if some parts of GPU were locked, but they are not in regular edition.

1. I'm not sure and your link didn't work for me anyway.
2. I'm not sure if it even matters and your link doesn't work for me anyway. If I had to guess, I'd say that I'd expect a reference card tobe better off with a reference BIOS from AMD, but I make no guarantee on that.
3. Again, not sure if it matters and again, your links don't work for me.

Furthermore, whether or not you asked for them, I'll say this anyway. There is no good reason to get a GHz Edition BIOS because it is inferior to the regular BIOS. The only advantage is the Boost feature and higher stock clocks, but they come at the cost of an otherwise inferior BIOS and even more unnecessarily high stock voltages. The allure of a 7970 GHz Edition is that it is generally using better binned components than the regular 7970, not the crappy BIOS. You could easily get better performance and power consumption out of manual overclocking.

Thanks Blazothon, seems you are the only one that put in the effort to read my topic.
So here are the right links:

1]. IDK why, but the page for the tutorial keeps blanking out a few seconds after loading. It's the right URL as far as I can tell, but the page itself isn't working right.

2]. I've never done it, so this isn't a guarantee, but I'd probably go with AtiFlash because it is the newest of the three options.

3]. I think this is the right BIOS:
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/123523/Sapphire.HD7970.3072.120628.html This is the only one that has a wide compatibility list with different companies, implying that it's a reference or at least a reference compatible BIOS.

I'm still against this. I see no good reason to risk bricking the card just to use an inferior BIOS.

Thanks for your honest answer, that you never did a bios flash!!
I think is important to have some experience in flashing to give a advice inhere.

I did find another great tutorial now I only would like to know what is the best Bios, which because it is a reference card, I think it must be the one from ATI. Bios from Sapphere could be also from a special design and then I have a problem.
