http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... i'm about to buy my first build and this card is super cheap, i'm looking to play both skyrim and borderlands 2, i'm looking for as high fps as i can on both games but need a cheap card, this one doesn't seem to give up too much to the 7870 and it's $190 after rebate. my question really just boils down to what kind of numbers can i hope for with this card, fps's aren't my thing really i just want to play rpg's (skyrim, kingdoms of amalur, etc) thanks for the input!

Skyrim would be fine, for the 7850 for that price is awesome. Depending on what resolution, CPU and settings your going to run varies on what your FPS in game will be.

You can overclock the 7850 to match the performance of a stock 7870.
I just pushed mine to 950mhz core clock without any problem.

As for performance, absolute smooth experience in skyrim, dishonored, guild wars 2 and more..

i should have said i'm looking to play at or above 30fps on a 1920x1080p tv. the more the better and i do plan to overclock and eventually crossfire.

One does not simply play on a 1920x1080p tv.

Why you ask me? Its refresh rate can't handle the frame rates of games.

You need 60 fps for smooth play and your tv will get you only around 30fps.

yeah, the tv will be upgraded fairly soon to an led or plasma with a higher refresh rate, but i'm fine with 30fps really, especially with what i want to play and considering i'm coming from the console world it should be fine. not to mention that i would assume once i crossfire it should be fine right?
