Since it has been difficult to find a 16ms lcd locally, I settled on a Proview 776 from Circuit City as a model to test the 16ms response out on games.
Like everyone else, the streaking is almost non-existent. I tried out a Samsung 191T last week and just couldn't deal with the trailing in some places, though a BEAUTIFUL LCD otherwise.
However, the 16ms does seem to have problems of its own. It seems to "half-tone" fast moving images. Been playing a lot of Day of Defeat (Half Life mod) and UT2003. On both games there is a noticable half-tone effect when moving around the maps. It not a huge problem but the more I play the more I notice it. The reason is that it creates a morie type pattern (or better yet, a newspaper type photo...dotted effect). Also, the colors seem to become washed out in some places and overly bright in others. Tom's review hinted at what I might be seeing. It could be the reduction of the number of colors to 262,000.
Anyone else seeing this with their 16ms LCD? I'm becoming very skeptical of them but so far been unable to find a Hyundai Q17 screen (w/DVI) anywhere in the US.
