Hi all..
I was thinking of doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate .
Currently Iam running the same. but wanted to do a fresh install.
The problem is that My DVD drive is not working.. and i took it out.
can someone tell me the steps in installing windows 7 64bit Ultimate using USB pen drive.

I want to wipe out the entire hard disk before doing that and want to do the fresh install.
one of my friends when tried to do like this, his bootable USB pen drive was not detecting via BIOS.

Please help me..
Thanks

That's great, I'll definitely bookmark that.

To the OP: if you just want a quick test to see if you are able to boot from your pendrive, download and run the "Download - Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7) *NEW!*" from http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Direct link:
http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/memtest86+-4.20.usb.installer.zip

Can't be more simple than that.

u can make the pendrive bootable
Goto Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command Prompt
Run as Administrator
Type this -> diskpart
Now it will show the list of drives type LIST DISK
You can see disk’s listed there. Note down disk number of your pendrive. eg : disk 1
Now type -> “SELECT DISK X” (where X is disk number you noted)
Now type -> “CLEAN”
Now type the following commands by pressing enter after each one.
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION X (X is your disk number)
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS
ASSIGN
EXIT
