or just get radeon hd 7950 for 300 which blows GTX 660 TI out of the water

I hate it when people use this type of term. The Radeon HD 7950 does not blow the Geforce GTX 660 ti out of the water. Is is, in most situations, a more powerful card, but not by much.

A better example of your statement would be: The Radeon HD 7950 blows the Geforce GTX 650 ti out of the water.

If you can wait for a couple of weeks, you can have a 660 ti for $20 less.Nvidia is announcing some price cuts on gtx cards.

As far as performance goes,a stock 660 ti is always faster than a stock 7870 and often beats the 7950.The factory oc'd msi 660 ti currently retailing for $290 in newegg after rebate is on par with a 7950 boost edition.I recommend you buy it.

when comparing a 660 ti with a 7950 people often draws the 7950 boost against the 660 ti.The thing is a stock 660 ti performs the same as a stock 7950.
EDIT: My MSI 660 Ti PE/OC gives me an avg of 70-75 fps @ 1080p in BF3 which proves the 660 ti can also scale with higher clock speeds.

^ The techspot benchmarks are saying something else my friend.

I believe most of those benchmarks in other websites that show a 660 ti equaling the 7950 were with really old drivers and at stock or low overclocks for the 7950.

AND with low AA...

The new drivers coupled with a virtually guarateed ability to OC to 1000ghz on the core, make the 7950 trade blows with a gtx 670.

No, the techspot benchmarks are based on the latest beta drivers. And when it comes to overclocking you cannot rule out the fact that the 660 ti can OC as well.I easily OC'd my 660 Ti to level/surpass performance of a 670.

By trade blows I mean both overclocked.

Sure you can probably reach stock gtx 670 settings with a 660 ti overclocked.

Problem is you are gonna start suffering massive fps drops as you try to use AA with it, it is bandwith chocked.

7950 is just a better card, especially with its overclocking headroom and newest drivers.

If you can go to the original article of the game gpu site you will see they've used the latest drivers while that techpowerup bench is circulating the web for months.

article? that was just to show how much the 7950 improves with OC. Even if you OC the 680, it won't beat the 7950 OC in general.
