Do I need a discrete graphics card for an HTPC build?

As the title suggests: Do I need a discrete graphics card for an HTPC build? If I were to build the HTPC, I would probably use an AMD APU (looking at the A8-5500 and the A10-5700) or an Intel ivy-bridge (maybe the i3 3225)

Intel Celeron G540 and higher all have integrated graphics. Unless you are watching in 3D you will be fine. Same with AMD A4 and higher. AMD E350 should also work with most applications. As long as you are not gaming, you should be fine with any of these chips.

Ok, I should probably rephrase my question to be more specific: If I wanted to watch 3d blu-ray movies without any stuttering/lag on a 1080p HDTV, will I need a discrete graphics...is the Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7660D enough for such a task
