Hey, I am posting about a problem my mate is having.

He will randomly get a graphical error on his monitor that he cannot get rid of, he has to do a hard restart to get rid of it.
It happens randomly, nothing to do with what he was specifically doing.

Sometimes its happens rarely with large intervals between occurrences and sometimes it will do it multiple times a night so there isn't really any pattern to it.

Here is a picture of what shows up on the screen

And as i said this will randomly come up, filling the whole screen and he has to do a hard restart to get rid of it.

PC hardware:
CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 @3.6GHz
MOBO: ASRock X79 Extreme4
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB OC
RAM: Corsair 8GB 1600MHz
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 700W
Monitor: Samsung S27B550VS

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be causing this?^^^^^^^^

I was thinking that it was probably a faulty graphics card gut I'm not sure and I would greatly appreciate some input on what it might be.

Forgot to mention that when this happens his computer is still running fine, its just the monitor that comes up with the graphical error.
For example, i was talking to him on skype and the graphical error occurred and i was still able to talk to him on skype.
To me that kinda confirms that it is a graphical error.

Is there any chance that it could be caused by the monitor itself being faulty. I personally don't think so but I'm not an expert on graphical errors obviously :S

Any help is greatly appreciated!
