i want to upgrade my system to SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition - 2 GB GDDR5

will CORSAIR CX500 80 PLUS - 500W be ok for this GPU?

thanks, i seen the specs somewhere for this GPU and it said 500W but from my knowledge i was sure 500 would be enough, i just needed a second yes, thank you :)

Even though it says 500W, they have to take into account the cheaper power supplies too, since you have a strong unit its fine.

Yes, it will work.

I suggest this PSU over the Corsair though.

XFX 550W PRO550W Core Edition Single Rail

It's only a couple dollars more at NCIX. It's well worth the extra wattage. Furthermore, it's made with the same parts Seasonic uses in their power supplies.
