Hello guys! I am in the process of building a new pc but i am falling behind when choosing a GPU, i don't want something OVERKILL but i do want a gpu that can MAX OUT newer games at a res of 1680X1050. Now i don't really have a price range but if i could save a couple of bucks it'd be nice. I will be using newegg / microcenter for this purchase, and in case you need to know my specs here they are:

CPU -i5 3570k
RAM -8GB DDR3 CORSAIR
MOTHERBOARD -Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Z77
PSU -750 WATT CORSAIR CPU
HD -128GB M4 CRUCIAL SSD & 1TG CAVIAR GREEN

Now, i know that this question has been asked before but with newer games and newer technologies i wanted the info to be as updated as it can. I sincerely appreciate any replies (good and bad) and thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

hd 7870 is known for its price/performance it can handle any game at that res with high/ultra settings with 2xaa or 4xaa and will give about 40 - 50 fps depends on the game:)

a gtx 670 will also be a good choice.:)if there is no price range:)gtx 670 will be good for gaming and will play any game with ultra settings on 1080p and will be good for future monitor upgrade:)depends on you how much u wanna pay for gpu:)

difference between a gtx 670 and gtx 680 is very less a gtx 670 will perform better then gtx 680 when its overclocked:)so that makes a gtx 670 a very good gpu for its price:)

hd 7870,hd 7850,gtx 660 all this card will be good for these resolution and will cost...

Any of them really, i'm going out on a limb here but i'll say that they are all the same as long as they perform. Then again the more variety of options the better.

6670 wont max out much of anything new

Thanks for all the responses guys. I don't have a price range it could be 500 as long as is not OVERKILL, i seriously don't want to have a link of gold in a chain of silver, although the 7870 got so many good reviews that i am thinking of getting it.

Thank you, it does seem that this one card will outperform the 7870 but it will only shine on a higher res monitor. I will stick to the 7870 and OC it since i am not planning to upgrade my monitor any time soon! Thanks again.
