Probs with SBLive Gameport

Does anyone know how to get the gameport on the SB Live 5.1 card to work? I have never gotten it to work, and it was never a problem because I've always had a serial to USB adapter. But now I cant find it and am forced to use the gameport, but it doesnt recognize the joystick at all. It's a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D. Creative's site says that its automatically a software problem with the joystick, which doesnt help. I've checked the drivers for my card, and the gameport is properlly installed. I have the newest software for the joystick, and it still doesnt work. Anyone else have any ideas?
