More about : rate build

1. A build with your budget deserves a SSD.

2. For gaming, the presumed main usage, you got minimal value out of a 3770K compared to a $100 cheaper 3570K.

3. I have no problem with a GTX680 since you have the cash and don't mind spending it.
EVGA happens to be a very good brand.
Do not always assume that the more expensive the better.
Buying the most expensive is a lousy justification.

Thanks :)  I didn't want an SSD. No reason for me, I don't mind waiting 20 extra seconds on boot. also 3770k was just something I really wanted, I felt like it was "high class". I wanted something sleek and powerful, and that's what I got!

You miss the value of a ssd.
It goes well past the fast boot times. Everything you do goes quicker.
Everything from windows updates to just web browsing.
Once you have one, you will never go back.

And... the WD blue is not the fastest boot drive either.

Don't care xD FPS in game is all I care about for an HDD, and SSD won't change that c:

Who rated 1 star -.- xD

Nice build but i must agree with Geofelt a build of this calibre deserves an SSD and it will help in games improved load times and those textures dont come from thin air you know. I would also swap out the mouse for a Razer Mamba or Naga my Naga is brilliant and still going stong after two years :)  Id give it an 8 swap out that blue for a caviar black atleast or add an SSD you may not see the point but for a brilliant system an SSD is a must :D

I've used both of those mice and I like mine better ;p My hands are pretty big and I palm my mice, + my pinky finger is bent in a bit so I need that pinky and ring finger rest c: And oh come on. 8 for a 3770k and a 680? k
December 27, 2012 4:17:06 AM

Fair enough on the mice. And what do you expect i have to save the 9s and 10s for full watercool builds with sli/crossfire and maybe even SR-2 builds. And i cant possibly give higher than an 8 for a build without an SSD it may not be of use to you but the people rating your system see otherwise :)
December 27, 2012 4:19:13 AM

no, those are tens xD
December 27, 2012 4:23:31 AM

Its a wasteful gaming build

you dont need an i7 , you dont need 16 gig of RAM

and if you had asked b4 you bought you could have saved about $500 and got better gaming performance
December 27, 2012 4:26:01 AM

No I couldn't have^ I planned this for 2 years. I know I could buy the standard, i5 3570k, 7870, hyper 212 evo, bleh. NO. I decided I'd be better off getting the premium stuff and not have to worry about upgrading. and It's not just for gaming ya know. And I'd bet my left nut you can't buy a full setup with better performance than this with 1100.
December 27, 2012 4:28:10 AM

I actually laughed at "better gaming peformance" and save 500.
-the ram = 40$
-the i7 - 100$
= 140$, which I could put toward what? an ssd? no.
December 27, 2012 4:32:17 AM

And about the i7's, just because you don't NEED something, on my budget, doesn't mean you shouldn't get it. I wanted an i7 because the performance is nice, i7 3770k sounds baller, it's premium, and it's better. price/performance doesn't really matter after a 200$ cpu, they're all rip offs at that point. I wanted a 680 because It's the best gaming oriented GPU that's < 500, IMO. (For bf3) I wanted 16 gigs of ram because I need 8 for a server, 4 for gaming, 2 for other tasks, and 2 for the OS all at once. I have a reason for all these things.
December 27, 2012 4:33:00 AM

Hes probably not just talking about them the 680 is a little expensive considering is isnt much more powerful then the 670 thats another $60 more towards something different. But you shouldn't worry too much what others think of your build others will always nit pick about what you bought and what they would have done differently.
December 27, 2012 4:38:20 AM

the whole i7 thing just pisses me off. they're deemed useless just because they aren't 100$ for gaming? please.

Please stop being hypocritical and aggressive towards those who aren't as impressed towards your epeen as you think they should be.

epeen?

yes, epeen, google it

its almost amusing that you purchased a WD blue and a 680, im all for the 680, but the harddrive will be almost bottlenecking it, you may as well have bought an i3....
December 27, 2012 5:26:30 AM

How the hell does an hdd bottleneck gaming performance? I could have a 5400rpm drive from 3 years ago and still get the exact same fps in game. smd
December 27, 2012 5:26:38 AM

And hahahhahahhahahahahaha electronic penis

if you say so
December 27, 2012 5:40:40 AM

-.- HDD has no effect on in game performance. storage is storage imo

you can believe what you want, but if you were running games of a 10,000 RPM drive, a caviar black, or a reasonable solid state, you would see an increase in performance over the blue

Is it just me or in roughly 75% of threads entitled "Rate My Build," does the originator actually mean "Praise My Build?"
December 27, 2012 5:57:00 AM

not fps wise
December 27, 2012 5:59:41 AM

It just makes me mad how someone can give 1/10 to a build with a 3770k and a 680. like, forreal.

that seems to be right, and those people getting a bit... annoyed? when you point out flaws
December 27, 2012 6:13:18 AM

Your "flaws" are incorrect entirely, HDD speed and size effects in game fps 0%

im no longer going to reply or try to show you that your build is not as perfect as you might believe

have a nice day
