Hooking up speakers

can i hook up a pair of stereo speakers to my pc

yes look at the motherboard back panel and locate a green port for the speakers
the pink port is your your microphone in line

When you say, "stereo," do you just mean a pair of speakers, or do you mean actual speakers from a stereo? If the first one, then yes, the post above is correct. If the latter, we'd need to know more about what kind of connection the leads have on them.
