Here's the problem...I've got a Cendyne 24/10/40 CD-RW drive and a Qps Que DVD-R/Ram recorder on the same cable, connected to my second ide channel...usually 10-30 minutes after booting my system when i double click on either device to access a disc i am unable to access any info but the disc spins up on each drive. With the cd-rw, when i double click it, i get the window that would normally show the cd content but it comes up blank....with the DVD recorder, after doubling clicking, i get an error message saying the the drive can't read the media because it is "either corrupted or not formated" Also sometimes one drive will continue to work fine while the other doesn't but other times both fail together....If i then reboot, the drives will usually work fine but may fail again after a short period of time and start the cycle again. Other times one drive or the other or sometimes even both will work fine for hours on end...I've checked and double checked the M/S jumpers and they are set correctly and i've also tryed moving the drives to different cables but to no effect...Then i thought i might be having problems because the DMA was enabled so i changed it to PIO and initially this did seem to fix the problem but then the same problems came back...what the hell is going on???? Please someone must know
thanx

What's your IDE configuration? (Master, Slave etc.)

Have you tried if an other cable works?

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

Slve the DVD to the hard drive cable. Keep the CD-RW as master on the second channel.
