Hi, I am new to the whole pc building scene, and I would like some feedback on this new system I will be purchasing around mid-January. I am a highschool student, and I intend to do homework, write essays, surf the web, and play some games (CS:GO, RO2, DoTa2, Chivalry, NS2, those kind of games). Here she is:

CPU: i5 2500k

Mobo: Asrock Z77 Extreme4

Hard Drive: 500GB WD Caviar Black

Ram: Corsair Vengance DDR3 1600mHZ 8GB

Video Card: ASUS HD 7770 2GB

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO

PSU: Corsair Builder Series 500 w

Optical Drive: Asus Internal Drive

Case: Antec 300 ATX Mid Tower

USB Wireless Network Adapter: MediaLink 150MBS USB Adapter

Speakers: Logitech 2.1 Stereo Sound System

Mouse: Zowie EC1

Keyboard: Standard Logitech Keyboard

Mousepad: QCK Heavy

OS,Monitor: Uncle will supply them for me.

That's it. If I have a compatibility issue with something, please tell me. If you can recommend a better part or build, please feel free to do so. If you need the link to the part I have up there, feel free to ask.

i'd recommend i5-3570k - newer gen, less power consumption.
you need low profile ram , if it's heatspreaders are high it will trouble installing 212 evo. also make sure ram is 1.5V

so i should not get the corsair ram and get something without the heatspreaders?
