I have purchased an Acer GD235hz screen and I've a problem. When I'm plugging the DVI-D cable monitor is showing information "no signal". I plugged once after reinstalling graphic drivers and it was working in the low resolution mode.
When I installed drivers again i had same problem.

My PC specs are: windows 8, gt 550ti, 16 gb ram, i5 3.3ghz. I want to have 120 hz instead of 60 hz ( usb 1.4 ) or 75hz ( over vga ).

Can you please help me?

*Most useful information about DVI*
DVI-D (Digital only)
DVI-I (Integrated) [Combines Digital and Analog in the same connector]

Now you should use with dual link DVI-D or DVI-I cable to be sure.
-Example for Single link: Res 1600x1200 @ max
-Example for Dual link: Res 2560x1600 @ max

But it's depends on your Graphics card maximum capacity.

You should have faster Graphics like NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 for your FULL HD monitor. Also this is for latest gaming.

I've got DVI dual link and it is not detecting it at all. I'm using VGA at 75 hz at 1440x900 but it is not comfortable. Maybe its the matter of acer display drivers? Windows 8 isnt allowing them to install.

are you using the drivers from the disk?

go here and select win 8:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

then go into the nvidia control panel and select 120hz refresh @ the native resolution.

I have latest nvidia drivers. What about installing drivers while in safe mode at low resolution ( dvi is showing signal tru that ). How to install custom display acer drivers on windows 8?

Im attaching a link to snapshot of my nvidia settings http://www.speedyshare.com/29kga/nv.jpg

This is via VGA cable. Via DVI-D i got the info about no-signal. I will try to run in low resolution mode and send you other snapshot.

refresh on high res is 75 hz (VGA cable ), refresh on low res is 60 hz ( DVI )
