Hey, I'm going to be buying parts for my build soon, but am just finalising a few things. I was originally going to pick up a HD 7850, but now I've started looking at 7870s. I was just wondering if it'd be worth it, realistically. I'd be using the system for a bit of gaming now and then, but I was just curious what you guys thought, is it worth the bit extra?

Hi. A quick search on Newegg shows the cheapest HD 7850 1GB for $160 after rebate (it often go as low as $150 after rebate), HD 7850 2GB for $175 after rebate, HD 7870 for $195 after rebate. But right now it has a GTX 660 for $180 after rebate. So if you were thinking of getting either the HD 7850 2GB or HD 7870, you should get the GTX 660. And if you were thinking of the HD 7850 1GB and HD 7870, get the GTX 660. Getting the GTX 660 at that price is worth it.

Edit: You should make sure that you have a quality PSU with enough power and cable for your needs.

Thanks very much for the input, I didn't realize the 660 was so much better in benchmarks. I'm actually in Ireland and will be buying from UK websites, but the pricing difference is similar enough, so I think I will actually go for the 660. Thanks very much!
