Crossfire 7770's question

Alright so I was planning on getting a 7870 but Im on a budget and I dont think Ill be able to get it but I saw crossfired 7770's are pretty much the same as one 7870. Ive never tried to crossfire cards before so I have two questions. What type of power consumtion would I be looking at with two 7770s vs one 7870? More or less? Also can/should I cross fire with the ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX motherboard? ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) Sorry if these are nooby questions but like I said Ive never done crossfire so thanks for any help!

Best solution

The motherboard will work fine with crossfired cards. The power consumption should be reasonably similar to a 7870; the TDP of the 7770 is 80W, while it's 175W for the 7870.
