How to replace my on-board graphics card with a seperate graphics car?

Hi everyone,
I need 2 replace or upgrade,my graphics card (on-board) witha seperate graphiCs card (evga) I've never done this before.therfore have no Idea about this.
So I need to exactly what I have to do (step by step would be usefull)
My motherboard is Intel dh55Hc i3

How do I connect my graphics card to the motherboard.
Should the on board graphic card be disabled 1st
Where should I place my new graphics card?
Every1 plz help me with above questions thnx..
